About Harrison & Violet Taylor Golden Roots & Branches
It is my prayer that these morsels of family history will serve to increase our appetites for a greater knowledge of our rich heritage. We wish to preserve memoirs as we seek to know how we share common ancestors. As we make more contacts and uncover more branches, we will tie all of us together. We have begun with what we know...As we feel our way backward, down to where branches meet other branches, to the trees very roots if possible, we know that it is through family history that we discover our identity.

This site is set up mainly for gathering history/genealogy. Much of it is from research, and some is from word of mouth, so if any corrections or additions need to be made, please contact me. I have been doing genealogy research for more than 25 years, and am very interested in tracing my lineage back as far as possible, and I see that many of you are as well. Many of the elder Golden Relatives did a lot of the research...Aunt Mary Golden Blair, Cousin Doris Bond Price, and I'm sure many others, but we have not been able to get farther than Harrison's Father (Tom Golden),and we do not have much information. We were told that he was married to Laura ????...don't have a last name on her. They originated in West Point, MS, and had three children (Harrison, Tom, Dora), so I've been told. My brother has found his sister Dora Lacy (at that time) on the 1900 census in the house with our great great grandfather Harrison, living in Madison, County, TN with her daughter Lucy.

Genealogy is a tedious journey, so we do not expect to find lots of information at once, but bits and pieces will be just fine. We would love any help from anyone who may have information on this family. We would like the accuracy of the history to be intact...therefore, we have limited access to the site to family only for corrections. We welcome guests to view this site, and if you have any information, the webmaster would be most appreciative to receive it via email.

COME ON FAMILY...LET'S DO
 THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
